We want to help your pet live the longest, healthiest life possible. To help with that, we have put together a Senior Care Plan that includes diagnostic tests we feel are an important part of preventive care for senior pets.

Physical Examination

Your pet will receive a complete, nose to tail physical examination checking the following; head, neck, eyes, nose, mouth, and ears, cardiovascular, respiratory and musculoskeletal systems, along with palpation of the abdomen, looking for aging-related problems.

Senior Profile Blood Test

A comprehensive blood test designed specifically for senior pets is a valuable piece of diagnostic information for our doctors. These diagnostic tests can reveal diseases that affect older pets such as cancer, anemia, diabetes, thyroid abnormalities as well as many other problems before clinical signs are evident.

Radiographs

We will take chest and abdominal views of your pet. Radiographs are another valuable diagnostic tool because sometimes a problem, for example, a tumor, can be present but it hasn’t reached the stage where it is affecting how the pet’s body functions as would be revealed in blood tests or clinical signs.
