Dr. Amy Bednarek, is a Los Angeles native and joined our team at Point Vicente Animal Hospital in September 2013 and became a partner in 2018. After an extensive career in the entertainment business, Dr.

Dr. Dueppen was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. She moved to Davis, California for college and graduated with a BS in Animal Science in 2001. She stayed in Davis for veterinary school, graduating in 2006.

Dr. Iana Strakh graduated from veterinary school in Moscow, Russia, in 2017 and completed her U.S. veterinary accreditation in 2020. She has since joined our hospital, where she focuses on providing exceptional care for companion animals, particularly dogs and cats.

Our Hospital Director, Krishna Van Buren, RVT, comes to us with a wealth of experience in veterinary medicine.  Over her career, she has worn many hats.  Krishna got her start over 30 years ago right here in Rancho Palos Verdes, working for Dr. Lauhoff, at the Animal Hospital of Golden Cove which was located in the Golden Cove Shopping Center.  In fact, it is the very space where PVAH got its start after Dr. Lauhoff retired.   While working with Dr. Lauhoff, Krishna was earning her degree in Economics at UC Irvine.  Krishna then returned to school to meet the requirements to sit for the National and State of California Veterinary Technician certification boards.

Hi, my name is Patricia Newell, and I am a Practice Manager at Point Vicente Animal Hospital. I believe I was truly called to this role — throughout my career, I have had the privilege of building meaningful connections with both animals and the people who love them.

Shahzeen has a degree in zoo biology and has been working in the veterinary field since 2008.  She joined our team at Point Vicente Animal Hospital in 2014.  Her favorite thing about working in veterinary medicine is helping animals get better.   She especially enjoys seeing all of the different
