Our Rehabilitation Team's goal is to restore, maintain, and maximize physical strength and function by addressing the underlying physical impairments. We strive to provide a greater quality of life, giving you more time with your pets—pain-free happiness.
Rehabilitation Modalities and Treatments
Laser Therapy
Laser therapy uses focused light energy to reduce inflammation and pain while stimulating cell repair. It speeds up healing of wounds, surgical sites, muscle and joint injuries, and supports long-term pain relief in arthritic pets.
- Reduce inflammation and pain
- Promotes faster tissue and nerve healing
- Excellent for arthritis, nerve injuries, wounds, muscle spasm, and surgical recovery.
Therapeutic Massage and Manual Therapy
This includes hands-on techniques to relax tight muscles, improve circulation, and restore mobility to stiff joints. Massage helps pets move more freely and feel more comfortable during activity.
- Reduce inflammation and pain
- Improves circulation and joint mobility
- Helps regain range of motion after injury or inactivity
Therapeutic Exercise Program
A customized set of safe movements designed to build strength, improve balance and coordination, and retrain proper gait patterns. Exercises are adapted to each pet’s mobility level and medical condition.
- Strength, balance, and endurance improvement
- Restore functional mobility and confidence
- Essential for neurological recovery, arthritis management, and postsurgical recovery.
Thermotherapy (Heat and Cold Therapy)
We use warm and cold compresses to reduce pain, swelling, and stiffness, helping pets feel more comfortable and relaxed
- Heat increases circulation, reduces stiffness before activity
- Cold reduces pain, swelling, and post-surgical inflammation
TENS/EMS (Electrostimulation) Exercise Program
Also known as Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation/Electrical Muscle Stimulation.
TENS safely interrupts pain signals to the brain, helping pets feel relief without additional medication.
EMS gently stimulates weak muscles to maintain strength and prevent atrophy, especially during crate rest or recovery after nerve damage.
- Pain relief by blocking pain pathways
- Strengthens weak or atrophied muscles
- Help maintain muscle tone during restricted activity
- Support neurological recovery after paralysis or nerve damage
Assisi Loop/PEMF (Target Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy)
- Non-invasive inflammation and pain reduction
- Can be used at home to support recovery daily
- Useful for arthritis, wounds, post-surgical pain, and neurological conditions
Home and In-Clinic Rehabilitation Plans
- Customized treatment for each pet’s diagnosis and ability
- Home instructions to ensure continued care and progress
In-House Rehabilitation Visits
- Ideal for pets who are unable to travel due to fear, mobility issues, or pain
- Comfort of familiar environment- reduces stress
Nutritional Counseling & Weight Management
- Weight loss plans to improve mobility
- Calorie calculation and treat guidance
Conditions We Treat and Support
Post Surgical Recovery
- Orthopedic repairs (CCL, fractures, patella luxation, etc.)
- Spine surgeries (IVDD)
- Can be used at home to support recovery daily
Goal: help to control pain, restore function faster, and prevent complications
Non-Surgical Treatment
- Senior pets
- Pets with systemic illness
Goal: improves mobility and reduces pain, helps maintain quality of life
Neurological Disorders
- IVDD, nerve trauma, spinal degeneration
Goal: return to standing and walking, rebuild proprioception, prevent bed sores, muscle wasting, and paw “nackling”
Senior and Geriatric Pets
- Arthritis, muscle weakness, spasm, and balance problems
Goal: Exercises stimulate the brain and nervous system, mobility support improves confidence, and prevents falls.
Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome (Canine Dementia)
- Therapeutic activities enhance mental stimulation
- Physical movement improves blood flow to the brain
- Helps maintain routines, awareness, and engagement with family
Goal: Rehabilitation can significantly slow cognitive decline.
Sports and Working Dogs
- Performance injuries, soft tissue strains, post-competition soreness
- Conditioning restores strength and prevents reinjury
Wound Healing and Mobility After Trauma
- Laser therapy, PEMF, and guided exercise support tissue repair
- Gradual loading prevents further damage while returning function
Orthopedic and Developmental Conditions
- Hip or elbow dysplasia, luxations, limb deformities
Goal: Rehab reduces compensatory strain and supports healthy joint use
Paralysis or Partial Paralysis
- Structured neuro-rehabilitation to retrain the nervous system
- Strengthens standing ability with the goal of regaining gait
