Hospital Director/Partner
Our Hospital Director, Krishna Van Buren, RVT, brings more than 30 years of experience in veterinary medicine and hospital management to Point Vicente Animal Hospital. Her career has taken her through nearly every aspect of veterinary practice, from hands-on patient care to overseeing the operations of multiple hospitals. In 2018 Krishna became a partner at Point Vicente Animal Hospital.
Krishna’s veterinary career began right here in Rancho Palos Verdes, where she worked with Dr. Lauhoff at the Animal Hospital of Golden Cove, located in the Golden Cove Shopping Center. Interestingly, this is the very location where Point Vicente Animal Hospital began after Dr. Lauhoff retired. While working at the Animal Hospital of Golden Cove, Krishna earned her degree in Economics from UC Irvine. She later returned to school to complete the additional education required to become a Registered Veterinary Technician.
When Dr. Lauhoff sold his hospital to Veterinary Centers of America (VCA) in 1996, Krishna continued her career with the organization. In 2000, she became a Regional Operations Director for VCA, overseeing 13 veterinary hospitals and a boarding kennel throughout Southern California. In this role, she was responsible for the financial performance, operations, and day-to-day management of these facilities, gaining extensive experience in both veterinary medicine and hospital leadership.
After decades in veterinary medicine and management, Krishna is proud to be back where her career began serving the community she has called home for most of her life. Born and raised on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, she lives in Rancho Palos Verdes with her husband and children. Her family also includes dogs, cats, chickens, and horses.
Krishna’s connection to the Peninsula, combined with her extensive veterinary and business experience, gives her a unique perspective on what makes a great veterinary hospital: exceptional medicine, a dedicated team, responsible management, and genuine care for the pets and families who entrust their care to us.
