Dr. Teresa Micco

Dr. Teresa Micco, received her DVM in 2011 from Ross University and Louisiana State University Schools of Veterinary Medicine. 

Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. Micco was an RVT (Registered Veterinary Technician) for 25 years, working primarily with birds and exotics in addition to dogs and cats. She has been involved in conservation, rehabilitation, and aviculture for many years. After completing her studies in Biological Sciences at California State University, Long Beach, she moved to the Caribbean island of St. Kitts to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine for her pre-clinical training.

For her final year of veterinary school, she attended Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in Baton Rouge.  While completing her clinical rotations, she assisted in the care of injured birds and sea turtles during the BP oil spill.

Dr. Micco is an active member of the AAV (Association of Avian Veterinarians) and is on the Social Media Committee for the AAV on Aviculture. She continues to work with companion and wild birds, exotics, and dogs and cats. She lives in Redondo Beach with her husband Bill, cats Clare and DD, African grey parrot Bingo and a bearded dragon named Norbert.
